The Mutant Theatre Album - 9. Tannhauser Gate

everything regarding this track goes here 🙂

Most of you know this.. but for those that dont..
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tears_in_rain_monologue

this track is named after a location referenced in a monologue of the 1982 film Blade Runner.

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die."

A lovely, lovely way to finish off the record.

Does that mean the track was perhaps written for the last album? Or did Ben watch the movie again and felt inspired to do another teack?

I know at one point he may have been contacted about working on Blade Runner 2049, but it must've fallen through somehow.

Any receipts of that?

Just love that track more and more as days go by.
Heres my review....skip towards the end for my interpretation of Tannhauser Gate.

Could You Be, the Most Beautiful...I've Seen? Let's Turn On!

This track name comes from the beautiful death speech at the end of Blade Runner, I always wondered what The Tannhauser Gate looked like, so started filling in my vision of it. For me, this was the starting point of a new Blade Runner film.

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time... Time to die."
